There is so much more to Guyana than its "many waters". This little-known, undiscovered natural world is also home to many of the largest species of birds and wildlife known to man. It is home to the giant anteater, the giant otter and the mighty Harpy Eagle. Guyana is also the place to find mighty rivers, such as the Essequibo, which is 21 miles wide and has one of the tallest sheer drop waterfalls in the world — the Kaieteur Falls. This tour was designed for people looking to experience the raw beauty of nature. The trip focuses on wildlife safaris that take you on a journey into Guyana's deepest jungles, pristine rainforests, vast savannahs and mountains. Visit Guyana's wildlife habitats and come away with a feeling of wonder.

Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival in Guyana
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Ariantze Hotel, located in the centre of Georgetown, Guyana's capital.
Overnight at Ariantz Hotel
Day 2
Georgetown City Tour
This morning you will enjoy a tour of the city including St. Georges Cathedral, the tallest freestanding wooden building in the world; picturesque city hall; the Victorian law courts; the national museum; the botanical gardens; the zoo and many heritage sites. After a full day return to your hotel. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 3
Kaieteur Falls
After breakfast, we will take a flight to Kaieteur and Orinduik Falls. The Kaieteur Falls are one of the world's natural wonders. The waters of the Potara River flow over a sandstone conglomerate tableland into a deep gorge — a drop of 741 feet (225 meters) or 5 times the height of Niagara Falls. There are no other falls in the world with the magnitude of the sheer drop of Kaieteur Falls. Afternoon return to your hotel. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch)
Day 4
Iwokrama
You will be transferred to Ogle Airstrip to fly across the rainforest and savannah to Annai. Transfer to Iwokrama Rainforest Reserve. The Centre was established to promote the conservation, sustainability, and equitable utilization of the tropical rainforest to lead to lasting ecological, economic, and social benefits. On the first day, you will be free to explore the trails around the field station with an Iwokrama Ranger. After dinner, go in search of Caiman and other nocturnal wildlife. After your trek, return to the field station. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 5-6
Iwokrama and Satellite Camp
The Iwokrama forest is rapidly gaining an international reputation for its healthy jaguar population that seem not to be troubled by the appearance of curious humans. Today you will take a stroll up Turtle Mountain. Its summit is 935 feet (360 meters). It takes an hour to walk up the mountain, but the breathtaking views over the forest canopy are well worth the effort when you get there. The rest of the afternoon will be spent setting up camp and exploring the Turtle Mountain Satellite Camp area. It is a well-known area for its jaguar population. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 7-9
Savannah Experience
Transfer to the savannahs in search of big game. This trip will be a 4-hour drive. On arrival, you will observe a variety of wildlife. You will also overnight in the camp. (Meal: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 10
Annai
Return to Annai and take a flight to Georgetown or fly to Shell Beach. (Meals: breakfast, lunch dinner)
Day 11 - 13
Shell Beach and Turtles
The turtles nesting on the beach are relatively few but are of remarkable diversity — leatherbacks, the world's largest; green hawksbill and olive ridley turtles. We will travel through the land of the Amerindian tribes — the Caribs and Arawaks, then on to Shell Beach, which has been designated as a protected area for Leatherback turtles. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 14
Georgetown
Return to Georgetown. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch)

Day 15
Departure
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
