Suriname is an interesting place to visit. It is a small country with a lot of natural beauty, but also with a lot of history and culture.
It has many different tribes and languages. In this cultural expedition through Suriname, you will get a taste of them all!
During this cultural experience, we will visit several villages in the countryside and meet with members of different tribes who will welcome us in their homes and share their customs with us.

Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival in Suriname
Arrival in Suriname. From the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Paramaribo. The drive from the airport to the Capital City will take approximately one hour.
Day 2
Paramaribo City Tour
A guided tour of the most important sites of the city. Also, spend time taking in Paramaribo at your leisure and discover the many aspects of the city at your convenience. Go shopping or just take in the sights of the Central Market or the shops of Saramaccastraat. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 3
Klaaskreek & Otobanda River Lodge
Depart by bus over a rough jungle road to Klaaskreek, a Saramaccan maroon village in northern Paramaribo. The bus ride will take approximately two hours. We will depart by dugout canoe to Otobanda. The dugout canoe trip will take approximately four minutes, but you will discover the Marroon culture an nature for three days and two overnights. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 4
Otobanda and Nieuw Lombe
Explore Otobanda and Nieuw Lombe and listen to a cultural and historical presentation. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 5
Otobanda & Tei-Wei
Today will be the longest journey by bus and dugout canoe. After breakfast, travel by bus over a rough jungle road for approximately four hours to Atjoni by the Suriname river, where a dugout canoe hiking will take you to the start of the hike to Tei Wei. The hike will take approximately 2 hours. Spend 2 nights along the upper Suriname river in simple Marroon Lodge. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 6
Tei-Wei
Spend a full the discovering this area and its inhabitants. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 7
Danpaati River Lodge
Depart by dugout canoe to the south of the Suriname river. The canoe trip will take approximately 2 hours to reach our destination — simple two-person lodges with private bathrooms and a perfect view over the river. We will stay her for 3 days and 2 nights. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 8
Danpaati
Today is a day of leisure and an opportunity to discover the many aspects of the Danpaati area at your convenience. You can relax or visit the nearby villages. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 9
Kayana (AwaraDam)
Depart by dugout canoe to the deep south of the upper Suriname river to explore the many rapids. This dugout canoe trip will take five hours to reach Kayana. We will have a picnic lunch at the Gran Dan rapids. Activities include swimming, forest hiking and cultural presentation. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 10
Awaradam
Full day to explore. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 11
Sintea dam
A four hour dugout canoe ride to the south of the Suriname river, an area where the local people visit once a year. Activities include forest hiking, fishing and area discovery. Overnight is in a camp in hammocks with mosquito nets for two nights. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Day 12
Kayana
Departure by dugout canoe for one overnight in a lodge. Activities include relaxing and cultural presentation. (Meal: lunch, dinner
Day 13
Apetina
At 08.00 a.m. we will have breakfast, and at 10.00 a.m. we will leave Kayana by small aeroplane to the Amerindian village Apetina that's the wayana calls Puleowime for four days and three overnights in a hammock with mosquitonets, simple toilet facilities and swimming in the river. Activities include forest hiking, birdwatching, mountain hiking and cultural presentations. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 14
Apetina
Full day to explore. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 15
Apetina
A day to make short trips to nearby areas with opportunities for swimming in the rapids and bird watching. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 16
Paramaribo
After lunch we will visit the village chief to say goodbye. At noon we fly to Paramaribo. The flight will take approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. Overnight at Eco- Resort. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 17
Free Day
Explore Paramaribo on your own.
Day 18
Galibi
A bus and boat journey of approximately five hours will take you to Wejoe Lodge, located in the Amerindian village called Langamankondre on the east coast of Suriname and the border with France Guiana. Galibi is the Sea turtle reserve of Suriname. Overnight for 2 nights. Activities include watching sea turtles, cultural presentations and sandy beaches. (Meals: lunch, dinner)
Day 19
Galibi
A full day to explore. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 20
Paramaribo
Departure by boat and bus and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Eco-Resort. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)
Day 21
Departure
Transfer from the hotel to the Zanderij airport. This bus ride will take about an hour.
